International Journal of Law, and Development Community articles are published open access under a CC BY-SA licence (Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License). The CC BY-SA  licence is the most open license available and is considered the industry 'gold standard' for open access; it is also preferred by many funders. This license allows readers to copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format, and to alter, transform, or build upon the material, including for commercial use, providing the original author is credited.

In this license, authors retain copyright and grant the journal right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under an CC BY-SA  licence (Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License) that allows others to share — copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format and adapt — remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, even commercially with an acknowledgment of the work's authorship and initial publication in this journal.
